Prerit Oberai is Co-Founder and CTO of Prototyping.io, a YC-backed AI-native manufacturing platform helping hardware teams turn CAD designs into precision parts faster and at lower cost.

Prerit holds a BS and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from CU Boulder, pursued PhD work in Computer Engineering at UIUC, and built AI systems at Microsoft before co-founding Prototyping.io.

Prerit brings a rare combination of deep software engineering, academic research, and entrepreneurial experience, having previously founded HandHope and contributed to NASA satellite mission operations tooling.

After years building production-grade software and AI systems at Microsoft and various research institutions, Prerit identified a critical gap: software teams move fast, but hardware teams are held back by slow, fragmented manufacturing processes.

Prototyping.io was accepted into Y Combinator's P26 batch and is recognized as a standout example of the next generation of hardware iteration infrastructure, turning designs into mechanical parts in days.
