Rafael Luz is Co-Founder and COO at Trace Finance, a regulated Brazilian fintech building cross-border payment and stablecoin infrastructure for global enterprises operating in Latin America and beyond.

Rafael holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Ibmec, completed a Finance program at COPPEAD UFRJ, and earned an Investment Banking specialist track at Proseek, building a strong foundation across engineering, finance, and capital markets.

In 2019, Rafael co-founded Lasting Capital alongside Bernardo Brites, where the duo intermediated over $400 million between Brazilian clients and foreign crypto exchanges, validating the massive demand for cross-border financial infrastructure in LatAm.

Prior to founding, Rafael gained hands-on fintech and crypto trading experience at Transfero Swiss AG, progressing from Financial Intern to Financial Analyst and Trading Desk roles, sharpening his expertise in FX and digital asset markets.

Trace Finance has processed between $5 billion and $10 billion in total payment volume, raised a $32M Series A led by CoinFund with participation from Coinbase Ventures and Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, and joined the Mastercard Start Path program as it scales globally.
