Rama Afullo

Rama Afullo is the Founder and CEO of Satlyt, a space infrastructure company building AI-driven edge computing and networking software that transforms satellites into virtual AI data centers in orbit.
A Kenyan-American engineer, Rama holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and left a graduate program in Space Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University to pursue Satlyt full time.
Rama envisions Satlyt as the Android of space computing, building an open, horizontally integrated ecosystem that works across many satellite operators rather than locking into proprietary hardware.
Prior to founding Satlyt, Rama served as a Starlink Product Manager at SpaceX, an AI Startup Manager at Google, and a Telco Business Lead at Tesla, spanning global cloud, connectivity, and energy sectors.
Satlyt deployed Google DeepMind's Gemma AI model on an in-orbit spacecraft, cutting telemetry transmission size by over 60%, and has now raised an $8 million seed round led by Non Sibi Ventures to scale its on-orbit AI platform.
