Randy Fernando

Randy Fernando is the Founder and CEO of Maximum, a Miami-based fintech company building an AI-native operating system designed to replace the fragmented, decades-old infrastructure powering most of the U.S. banking industry.
An immigrant from Sri Lanka, Randy studied Business at Oregon State University and previously served as Head of Product at Acorns after his first startup, Vault, was acquired by the savings platform in 2017.
Randy is a three-time serial fintech founder with two successful exits under his belt, and believes that AI is creating a fundamental paradigm shift in financial services that legacy banking providers are not equipped to meet.
He founded Power Finance in 2021, a cloud-native credit card program management platform that Marqeta acquired in early 2023 for $275 million in cash, one of the most notable fintech acquisitions of that year.
Maximum emerged from stealth in August 2026 with a $30 million Seed round led by CRV, described as one of the largest seed financings in fintech history, targeting the more than 70% of U.S. banks still running on last-century legacy core systems.
