René Klačan is Co-Founder and CTO at FirstLook, a player relationship platform that revolutionizes playtesting and community engagement for game studios. FirstLook was acquired by Pragma in 2025 to scale its platform beyond playtesting.

René studied IT at Brno University of Technology and previously worked at FetLife, where he contributed to feature management systems. He also co-founded AoE4 World, an analytics platform for Age of Empires 4, and worked on Korektor.sk.

René is a skilled software engineer with expertise in multiple programming languages including Ruby, Rust, and TypeScript. He is based in Slovakia and has a passion for building tools for gaming communities.

FirstLook partnered with Frost Giant Studios to develop custom playtesting solutions, onboarding thousands of players at once. The platform now serves over 100 studios including Krafton, Remedy Entertainment, and Dreamhaven, with millions of players onboarded.

FirstLook transformed from a playtesting tool into a full marketing operating system with influencer management, social listening, and player communication. The platform helped MIMESIS achieve over one million copies sold through efficient user testing and strategic launch planning.
