Rhythm Garg is Co-Founder and CTO at Applied Compute, an enterprise AI platform that builds Specific Intelligence for companies using proprietary data and reinforcement learning.

Rhythm earned his Master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and previously worked as a researcher at OpenAI, where he contributed to the development of reasoning models including o1.

At OpenAI, Rhythm was a key contributor to advancing reasoning models and reinforcement learning systems. He also held previous roles at Google, Bridgewater Associates, and Studio 2048.

Applied Compute raised $100M total across two rounds from Benchmark, Sequoia Capital, and Lux Capital, with the company valued at $100M at Series A in June 2025. The company achieved top rankings on the APEX-Agents leaderboard in corporate law.

Applied Compute's custom models can produce complex legal deliverables and traverse data rooms with hundreds of files. The company serves clients including DoorDash, Cognition, and Mercor, and is in talks for funding at a $1.3B valuation.
