Ria Shah is Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Handl Health, a healthcare price transparency platform transforming how employer-sponsored health plans are designed and managed. She oversees operations and data science, leading the development of network comparison and analytics capabilities.

Ria holds a degree in Analytics and Finance from the Wharton School of Business and worked as a strategy consultant at EY-Parthenon across the US and Germany, specializing in data strategy for health systems and payors. She focused on using public and proprietary data to create value and outcomes-based contracts for public payors and big pharma.

Ria and co-founder Ahmed Marmoush were awarded a National Institute of Health grant to research the impact of price transparency legislation on American employers and consumers, which led to founding Handl Health in 2022. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and as the child of Indian immigrants, she has witnessed firsthand the barriers to healthcare access in the US system.

Handl Health has raised $14.2M in Series A funding led by Arthur Ventures and has identified $113 million in savings across nearly $1 billion in healthcare spend. The company participated in Techstars Healthcare and AlphaLab Health accelerators and received a $1.3M Phase II SBIR grant from NIH.

Handl Health's platform has helped power alternative health plans that reduced consumer costs by 22% on shoppable procedures. The company is headquartered in Pittsburgh with operations in Los Angeles and serves benefits consultants across the country.
