Rilwan Lawal

Rilwan Lawal is the Founder and CEO of GigEasy, a New York-based insurtech platform reinventing insurance and benefits for the fast-growing gig economy.
Raised in an entrepreneurial household in Lagos, Nigeria, Rilwan studied Business Management at New Jersey City University and went on to co-found Neu, a Techstars-backed marketplace connecting Airbnb homeowners with cleaning companies.
Rilwan brings a rare dual perspective, having experienced the operational pain points of running gig-reliant companies and the financial challenges of providing insurance to independent workers.
Before launching GigEasy, Rilwan served as an early employee at Hugo Labs, a school transportation startup, and later as a Corporate Innovation consultant leading design-thinking initiatives for Global 100 companies.
GigEasy has raised $1.3M in pre-seed funding from Zeal Capital Partners, Barclays Bank, Bain Capital Ventures, and GoAhead Ventures, serving contractors, rideshare drivers, and freelancers with flexible health, dental, and vision coverage starting at $35 per month.
