Rob Eberle

Rob Eberle served as CEO of Bottomline Technologies from 2006 to 2022, leading the fintech company that provides business payment and cash management solutions to corporations and financial institutions globally. Under his leadership, Bottomline served more than 15 of the top 25 global banks and 80 of the Fortune 100 companies.
Eberle joined Bottomline in 1998 and served as President before becoming CEO in 2006. He holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College and a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, and previously held senior executive positions in the wireless and handheld computer industry.
During his tenure as CEO, Bottomline expanded to serve companies in more than 90 countries and was repeatedly recognized as a Best Places to Work. Eberle successfully transformed Bottomline into a leading provider of cloud-based payment solutions and drove significant business growth across multiple geographies.
In 2022, Eberle led Bottomline through its acquisition by private equity firm Thoma Bravo in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately 2.6 billion dollars. He stepped down as CEO following the acquisition but remained in a strategic advisory role to ensure a smooth transition.
Under Eberle's 16-year leadership as CEO, Bottomline became a market leader in business payments with solutions used to securely streamline, control and optimize business payments, cash flow and trading relationships for thousands of corporations worldwide. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Exeter Health Resources and on the boards of PointClickCare and Graff Golf.
