Robbie Schingler

Robbie Schingler is Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Planet Labs PBC, the world's largest Earth observation satellite company operating over 200 satellites that image the entire planet daily.
Prior to Planet, Robbie spent 9 years at NASA where he helped build the Small Spacecraft Office at NASA Ames and served as Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chief Technologist at NASA Headquarters.
Robbie holds an MBA from Georgetown University, an MS in Space Studies from the International Space University, and a BS in Engineering Physics from Santa Clara University. He was a 2005 Presidential Management Fellow and co-founded the NASA CoLab and Open NASA initiatives.
As CSO, Robbie led Planet's public listing as a Public Benefit Corporation in December 2021 and spearheaded acquisitions of VanderSat (2021), Boundless (2019), and BlackBridge (2015). He previously served as Managing Director of Planet Europe from 2016-2017.
Planet serves over 30,000 users and 700 customers in more than 40 countries, providing critical Earth observation data for climate monitoring, agriculture, defense, and sustainability. The company went public on NYSE as PL with a $2.8B valuation and operates the largest commercial satellite constellation in history.
