Roderick Simons is Co-Founder and CPTO (Chief Product and Technology Officer) at NjiaPay, a payment orchestration platform simplifying fragmented payment ecosystems for African merchants through AI-driven intelligent routing.

Roderick studied at the University of Amsterdam and went on to serve as CTO at Yolt, a leading European open banking provider, where he joined as the first engineer and scaled the technical team to 70 people over six years.

Drawing on deep expertise in regulated European payments and open banking, Roderick co-founded NjiaPay after experiencing firsthand the operational complexity of managing multiple PSPs while building Talk360 across African markets.

In 2024, Roderick and his co-founder built an internal payment orchestration system for Talk360 that consolidated six PSP integrations into one, achieving a 25% increase in checkout conversion and validating the broader market opportunity.

NjiaPay has raised $3.4M in total funding, serves clients including Talk360, Anytime Fitness, and Melon Mobile, and operates a team of around 20 people across Amsterdam, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.
