Roman Khomenko is Co-Founder and CTO at 9 Mothers Corporation, a Y Combinator-backed defense tech company building AI-powered counter-drone systems for the U.S. Government.

Roman holds a Master's in Computer Science from Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics and previously spent eight years at Rainforest QA (YC S12), rising from Senior Data Scientist to Lead AI Data Scientist, with earlier roles at DataRobot and DisOpt.com.

Roman brings a rare blend of deep AI expertise and hardware-first thinking, with hands-on experience in computer vision, production ML pipelines, and embedded systems that directly informs 9 Mothers' field-ready engineering culture.

At 9 Mothers, Roman leads the technical development of EDDA, an autonomous AI point defense turret capable of engaging multiple fast-moving FPV drones at 10 to 100 meter range with sub-15ms response time. The company is backed by Y Combinator, Pioneer Fund, Sterling Road, and Theory Forge Ventures.

9 Mothers is building a four-system kill chain for the modern battlefield and is the only known platform capable of countering multiple FPV drones at close range, addressing a threat that now accounts for the majority of casualties in active conflict zones.
