Ross Allen

Dr. Ross Allen is Co-Founder and CTO at StandardX, a deep tech company building the world's first accelerator-based isotope refinery to unlock scalable supply of rare isotopes for medicine and fusion energy.
Ross holds a PhD in nuclear physics and is a third-time startup operator, bringing a rare combination of deep physics intuition with engineering and operational experience of building and scaling hard technology.
As the architect of the StandardX platform, Ross specialises in accelerator-driven isotope production and has stated that the company began with a clear problem: isotope supply constrained by legacy infrastructure.
Ross co-founded StandardX in 2025 alongside CEO Richard Pearson, and the company has assembled a team of 15 scientists and engineers from institutions including SpaceX, Oxford, Cambridge, Fermilab and the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
StandardX raised a £10M seed round led by Vsquared Ventures and East X Ventures, with plans to secure its first industrial site in London and begin pilot isotope production for a medical partner in 2027, ahead of industrial-scale production from 2029.
