Rune Kvist is Co-Founder and CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Underwriting Company (AIUC), pioneering the confidence infrastructure layer that enables enterprises to safely deploy AI agents through certification, auditing, and insurance.

Kvist was the first product and go-to-market hire at Anthropic in 2022, giving him a front-row seat to the challenges of deploying frontier AI responsibly; he also serves on the board of the Center for AI Safety.

Kvist identified that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail to reach production not because models lack capability, but because organizations cannot guarantee agent behavior to their own customers, a trust gap he set out to close.

At AIUC, Kvist co-created AIUC-1, an industry-driven certification standard for AI agents tested across 5,000 risk-and-attack combinations, backed by real insurance from Lloyd's of London and adopted by companies such as Cursor, Harvey, ElevenLabs, and KPMG.

AIUC has raised $55 million in total funding, including a $40M Series A led by Ribbit Capital, and its AIUC Consortium now includes over 250 security and risk leaders from the Fortune 1000 shaping the future of AI governance.
