Ryan Boyd

Ryan is Co-Founder and VP of Marketing and Developer Relations at MotherDuck, a serverless data analytics platform built on DuckDB that has raised $100M at a $400M valuation. He is also a Partner at HyperGrowth Partners and angel investor with Hustle Fund.
Ryan started his career as a software engineer and led developer relations teams for over 15 years at Google, Databricks, and Neo4j, where he developed and executed numerous marketing and DevRel programs. He joined Google in 2006 as one of the first members of their Developer Relations organization and spent nearly 8 years helping thousands of developers succeed with over 20 different APIs.
Ryan is the author of O'Reilly's Getting Started with OAuth 2.0 and is based in Boulder, Colorado. He has a background in data, authentication/authorization technologies, and growth marketing for B2B SaaS startups.
At Neo4j, Ryan built the Developer Relations team and created the Neo4j YouTube channel which now has 40,000+ subscribers with close to 1 million views. At Google, he was a key contributor on teams that launched Google Apps (Workspace) products including the Google Apps Marketplace and Google Drive.
MotherDuck has grown to nearly 2,000 users and removed its waitlist in September 2023, offering a simplified analytics approach for the 95% of companies that don't have petabyte-scale data. The company partners closely with DuckDB Labs to combine local and cloud analytics with hybrid execution.
