Safi Shamsi is the Founder and CEO of Graphify Labs, a Delaware C-corp and Y Combinator S26 company building AI infrastructure tools for developers, including the open-source Graphify knowledge graph tool and Penpax, an enterprise knowledge graph engine built in Rust.

Safi earned an MSc in Data Science with Distinction from the University of Birmingham, where his thesis focused on knowledge-graph-based hybrid RAG systems, the technical foundation for everything he has since built.

Safi has co-authored peer-reviewed research in AI-driven healthcare and knowledge graph retrieval, and is a Unicorn Mafia Hackathon winner with deep expertise spanning knowledge graphs, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-modal deep learning.

Prior to going full-time on Graphify Labs, Safi worked as an AI Engineer at Valent Projects, building the Ariadne disinformation detection platform using graph neural networks and knowledge graph embeddings.

Graphify went viral in April 2026, reaching over 90,000 GitHub stars and 3.1 million downloads within months, with 21 Fortune 500 companies in the enterprise Penpax pipeline and a 77-person open-source contributor community.
