Sam Alba is Co-Founder of Mendral (YC W26), an always-on AI DevOps engineer that autonomously monitors, diagnoses, and fixes CI/CD pipeline failures in real time.

Sam was the first hire at Docker (then dotCloud) in 2010, rising to VP of Engineering and scaling the engineering org from 3 to over 100 people, and later co-founded Dagger (YC W19) alongside Solomon Hykes and Andrea Luzzardi.

Sam holds an MS in Information Technology from EPITECH and brings over a decade of hands-on expertise in software delivery, containerization, and developer tooling that directly informs Mendral's mission.

At Mendral, Sam and co-founder Andrea Luzzardi are building the first 24/7 AI DevOps engineer, backed by Y Combinator (W26), and have already deployed the platform to engineering teams at PostHog, Metabase, Clipboard Health, and Luminai.

Mendral's agent processed over 1.18 billion CI log lines weekly for PostHog alone, autonomously diagnosing failures and opening fix PRs, enabling teams to ship faster without dedicated platform engineering headcount.
