Sam Berston

Sam Berston is Co-Founder of MindFort AI, a Y Combinator-backed autonomous cybersecurity platform building AI agents that continuously find, validate, and patch vulnerabilities in web applications at machine speed.
Sam served as a senior engineer at Salesforce leading security for Tableau, where he experienced firsthand the constant tension between shipping features and securing legacy code. He holds a Master of Information and Cyber Security (MICS) from UC Berkeley, graduating in 2025.
Sam pioneered agentic offensive security research through a DARPA program, building early demos of AI-driven code review tools before co-founding MindFort. His conviction is that security should accelerate innovation, not obstruct it.
At Salesforce, Sam led enterprise-scale security operations for Tableau, managing vulnerability assessments and remediations across a large engineering organization. This deep operational experience directly shaped MindFort's product vision and autonomous remediation capabilities.
MindFort, backed by Y Combinator (X25 batch), reached $220K in revenue in 2025 and is already identifying vulnerabilities in production systems that legacy tools miss entirely. The platform is positioned to become the standard for autonomous security in the AI development era.
