Sam Goldman is Co-Founder and CEO of Smartbase, a Y Combinator-backed AI automation company transforming how manufacturers handle order entry by eliminating manual ERP data entry.

Sam studied at UC Berkeley, where he met his co-founder Taira Fujioka, and went on to previously found Sphinx, a DevOps platform for smart contracts that raised $2M and served top web3 teams as customers.

A repeat YC founder, Sam brings deep hands-on empathy for his customers, having worked on factory floors and even slept at a factory to fully understand manufacturer workflows.

Sam co-founded Anytrace alongside Taira, an AI support engineering agent backed by Y Combinator, before pivoting their shared expertise toward the manufacturing sector with Smartbase.

Smartbase is already onboarding its first customers onto five-figure annual contracts, targeting the $26 billion clerical labor market in U.S. manufacturing.
