Sandeep Chinchali

Sandeep Chinchali is Co-Founder of Synthefy, an Austin-based AI company pioneering Structured Data Foundation Models (SDFMs) that bring foundation-model intelligence to numerical data, tables, transactions, and time-series signals.
Sandeep earned his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2020 and graduated from Caltech, where he conducted robotics research at NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL).
He is a recipient of the Stanford Graduate Fellowship and National Science Foundation (NSF) fellowships, and his academic research has garnered over 1,900 citations across machine learning and robotics venues.
Sandeep serves as an Assistant Professor and Jack Kilby/Texas Instruments Endowed Faculty Fellow in Electrical and Computer Engineering at UT Austin, leading the Swarm Robotics Lab, with research backed by Cisco, Intel, DARPA, Lockheed, and Honda.
Synthefy raised a $6.5M Seed round led by Wing Venture Capital, with backing from angel investors including former CTO of Applied AI at OpenAI and senior leaders from Microsoft and Meta, to scale its platform for enterprise demand forecasting, fraud detection, and pricing optimization.
