Sascha Koberstaedt

Sascha Koberstaedt is the Founder and CEO of encosa energy GmbH, a Munich-based EnergyTech startup delivering full-stack battery storage solutions for commercial and industrial businesses across Germany.
Sascha holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, with early career experience at BMW Group and as a Research Associate at TUM on the aCar mobility project.
A serial entrepreneur with a deep commitment to sustainable technology, Sascha co-founded EVUM Motors in 2017, building all-electric utility vehicles out of a TUM research project before pivoting to tackle Germany's energy cost crisis with encosa.
At encosa, Sascha leads a team combining hardware, AI-driven software, and energy market expertise to deliver a one-stop-shop covering planning, financing, installation, and ongoing battery operation for energy-intensive SMEs.
In under two years, encosa raised 25 million euros in Seed funding, targeting over 100,000 potential customers in Germany and evolving its platform into a virtual power plant to enable cross-site energy trading.
