Satya Nadella

Satya Nadella is Chairman and CEO of Microsoft, leading the company's transformation into a cloud computing and AI powerhouse since 2014.
Satya earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, a master's in computer science from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He joined Microsoft in 1992 after working at Sun Microsystems and held leadership roles including Executive VP of Cloud and Enterprise group.
Under Satya's leadership, Microsoft's market value surged from $300 billion in 2014 to over $3 trillion, with stock increasing nearly tenfold. He authored the book Hit Refresh in 2017 and was named Financial Times Person of the Year in 2019, Fortune Businessperson of the Year in 2019, and received India's Padma Bhushan award in 2022.
Satya led Microsoft's pivot to cloud first strategy, growing Azure into the second largest cloud platform globally with 95% of Fortune 500 companies as customers. He oversaw major acquisitions including LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in 2016, GitHub for $7.5 billion in 2018, and Activision Blizzard for $69 billion in 2023, plus strategic partnership with OpenAI.
Satya transformed Microsoft's culture from competitive silos to a growth mindset focused on empathy and collaboration. Microsoft Cloud revenue exceeded $33 billion quarterly, Azure has 53,000 AI customers with one third new to Azure in the past year, and the company became one of the most valuable publicly traded companies globally.
