Scott Miller

Scott Miller is Co-Founder and CTO at Blue Water Autonomy, building fully autonomous unmanned ships for the U.S. Navy and commercial maritime operations. He holds a Master's in Ocean Engineering from MIT, where he developed a biomimetic robotic tuna and advanced force-feedback systems for marine cable research.
Scott served as VP of Engineering at iRobot for 10 years, leading Roomba manufacturing from prototype to 4 million units and playing a key role in the company's IPO. He lived in China for four years setting up manufacturing operations that could build 40,000 Roombas per week.
Scott founded Dragon Innovation in 2009, scaling it into a global manufacturing platform supporting Ring, Bose, and Pebble before its acquisition by Avnet. He also co-founded Bolt, a venture capital firm focused on hardware startups.
Before iRobot, Scott designed undersea ROVs at Deep Sea Systems and led development of a full-size walking dinosaur at Walt Disney Imagineering R&D. He crossed the Atlantic aboard a 125-foot schooner and served as first mate on a 7-month voyage from Rhode Island to Tahiti.
Blue Water Autonomy raised $64 million total funding including a $50 million Series A led by GV in August 2025. The company plans to launch its first full-sized autonomous ship in 2026 and has partnered with Conrad Shipyard for production.
