Sean Cole

Sean Cole is the Founder of Parasma, a pioneering biological compute company accepted into Y Combinator's S26 batch that is training human brain cells for compute.
Sean gained deep expertise in neuromorphic computing, attending multiple neuromorphic engineering workshops and working as an independent researcher and developer in the biological computing space.
Sean made global headlines in early 2026 when he taught 200,000 living human neurons on Cortical Labs' CL1 chip to play DOOM using Python-based bio-ML algorithms, demonstrating that biological compute could learn faster than silicon-based AI.
Building on this viral breakthrough, Sean founded Parasma to commercialize bio-ML algorithms for training brain cells, positioning the company at the frontier of biological computing and joining YC S26 to scale the venture.
Parasma is part of the YC S26 hardtech cohort and has been recognized by The Silicon Valley Post as one of the top hardtech startups in the batch, with Sean's prior DOOM neuron experiment attracting worldwide media coverage across Tom's Hardware, Interesting Engineering, and ZME Science.
