Shakeel 'Shak' Lala

Shakeel 'Shak' Lala is Co-Founder of Marloo, an AI-powered platform built to automate the administrative workload of financial advisers, saving them up to a day per week so they can focus on clients.
Shak studied at the University of Melbourne and went on to build deep expertise in fintech and B2B product at Sharesies, where he led company partnerships and equity capital markets, working with major listed companies across ANZ.
Shak developed the idea for Marloo after speaking with more than 900 advisers across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, uncovering a shared frustration with note-taking and documentation burdens. He is also completing a Certificate in Financial Advice at Massey University, deepening his domain expertise in the sector.
Marloo has raised over $12.7M in total funding, including a $10M Seed round led by Blackbird Ventures, and counts notable angels such as Xero co-founder Philip Fierlinger and Sharesies co-founder Leighton Roberts among its backers.
Marloo has grown 45% month on month, surpassed 650 customers including Pie Funds and Harbour Asset Management, and operates across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and South Africa.
