Shawn McLaughlin is Co-Founder and Board Member at Luxonis, a spatial AI and computer vision platform delivering embedded machine learning and depth perception hardware for robotics, automation, and industrial applications.

Shawn studied Economics at Colorado State University and built a 25+ year career as a commodities trader and serial entrepreneur, starting as a Floor Trader at the Chicago Board of Trade in 1992 before founding multiple energy ventures including Enserco Energy and Concord Energy Holdings.

A self-described serial entrepreneur, Shawn has founded 16 companies spanning energy, technology, and hardware, driven by a belief that intelligent technology can solve real-world problems and save lives.

Alongside co-founding Luxonis, Shawn founded Emporia in 2018, an AI-powered home energy management company that has grown to over 200,000 customers and earned partnerships with Honda and Siemens.

Luxonis has sold over 100,000 OAK vision devices, raised $7.6M across multiple funding rounds including a Series A in 2026, and its landmark OAK Kickstarter raised $1.3M from 6,500+ backers and was funded in just 20 minutes.
