Sherry Liu

Sherry Liu is Co-Founder and CTO at Tamarind Bio, an AI inference platform that enables scientists to use computational biology tools for drug discovery without coding or managing infrastructure.
Sherry studied Computer Science at Stanford University where she conducted computational biology research and met her co-founder Deniz Kavi. She previously worked at AWS as a software engineer and as a machine learning researcher at Stanford.
Sherry brought cloud computing expertise from AWS to build Tamarind's infrastructure that manages hosting, compute provisioning, runtime orchestration, security, and data residency. The platform gained 600 users in its first month and now serves thousands of researchers at large pharma companies, top biotechs, and academic institutions including Stanford, Harvard, and Oxford.
Tamarind Bio raised a $13.6 million Series A led by Dimension Capital in 2025, with initial seed funding from Y Combinator. The platform expanded to over 200 models covering antibodies, peptides, small molecules, enzymes, and radiopharmaceuticals.
Scientists have saved thousands of hours using Tamarind's seamless platform instead of setting up models and managing infrastructure. The platform leverages AWS to scale from zero to 10,000 GPUs in minutes, saving over 50 percent on compute costs while serving world-leading pharmaceutical companies.
