Shlomo Kramer

Shlomo Kramer is Co-Founder and CEO at Cato Networks, a cloud-native SASE platform that converges networking and security, and serves as an active angel investor in cybersecurity ventures. Known as the godfather of Israeli cybersecurity, Kramer has built three multi-billion dollar companies pioneering firewall, web application security, and cloud security innovations.
Kramer served in the Israel Defense Forces Unit 8200, a renowned cybersecurity and intelligence unit, then earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University.
Kramer was named one of 20 luminaries who changed the network industry by Network World in 2006, CEO of the Year by SC Magazine in 2008, inducted into the InfoSec Hall of Fame in 2013, and named 2024 Security Executive of the Year. As of 2024, Forbes listed his net worth at $2.2 billion, ranking him 17th among the wealthiest people in Israel.
Kramer co-founded Check Point Software in 1993, introducing the first commercial firewall, Imperva in 2002 as a web application security innovator that went public in 2011 raising $90 million, and Cato Networks in 2015, which reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue in five years. He made early investments in Palo Alto Networks, Trusteer (acquired by IBM for $1 billion), WatchDox (acquired by BlackBerry for $100 million), Exabeam, and Gong.
Cato Networks was valued at nearly $5 billion in 2025 and created the SASE category, serving thousands of organizations globally with 1,500 employees. Check Point commands a $20 billion market cap today, while Imperva went public with shares gaining 33% on its first trading day, establishing Kramer as the only entrepreneur on track for three cybersecurity IPOs.
