Sid Sijbrandij

Sid Sijbrandij (pronounced 'see-brandy') is Co-Founder of Kilo Code, the all-in-one open-source agentic engineering platform, and Co-Founder and Executive Chair of GitLab, one of the world's largest DevSecOps companies.
Sid studied Management Science at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, taught himself to code in Ruby in 2007, and spent four years building recreational submarines at U-Boat Worx before discovering his passion for open source software.
Named one of Forbes' top business minds of the pandemic for spreading the gospel of remote work, Sid is a recognized pioneer of open-core business models and a General Partner at Open Core Ventures.
Sid co-founded GitLab in 2012 and served as CEO until 2024, scaling it to a NASDAQ-listed company valued at over $6 billion and crossing $100M in quarterly revenue before launching Kilo Code in 2025.
