Simon Wittner

Simon Wittner is Co-Founder at Furo (formerly Lumera Energy), a Munich-based energy software company building AI-powered software to make industrial battery storage economically intelligent and viable.
Simon studied at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), a joint program of LMU Munich and the Technical University of Munich, and later studied at Stanford and UC Berkeley before working at Apple in Seattle.
Simon deliberately left a full-time offer at Apple to return to Munich, recognising that Europe's volatile energy market and proximity to industrial customers made it the superior place to build a climate-tech company.
At Furo, Simon co-leads product strategy focused on enabling multi-use battery optimisation from as low as 150 kW, serving enterprise clients including German rail giant Deutsche Bahn, and was part of the only European startup accepted into the US accelerator Neo in 2025.
Furo closed a $4 million seed round led by TQ Ventures with backing from Sheryl Sandberg's Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, and has established itself as the standard for planning and designing commercial battery storage systems across the DACH region and Spain.
