Somi Agarwal is the Co-Founder and CEO of Synthefy, an Austin-based generative AI company pioneering Structured Data Foundation Models (SDFMs) that do for numerical data what large language models did for text.

Somi pursued a PhD in Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and previously worked as a Motion Planning Engineer at Uber and Uber Advanced Technologies Group, with additional engineering experience at Dexcom and OceanComm, Inc.

Somi is building a new category of AI that enables enterprises to forecast, detect anomalies, and generate synthetic data from structured time-series without weeks of model retraining. Synthefy emerged as a spinout from Stanford University and UT Austin, reflecting Somi's deep roots in academic AI research.

Under Somi's leadership, Synthefy raised a $6.5M seed round led by Wing Venture Capital, with participation from Haystack, Samsung Next, Canonical, and Lightscape, as well as angel investors from OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta. Synthefy won first place at the Deutsche Telekom T Challenge 2024, securing Deutsche Telekom as its first enterprise customer.

Synthefy's flagship model, Nori, reduces enterprise model evaluation timelines from weeks or months to minutes, enabling teams to tackle fraud detection, demand forecasting, and dynamic pricing at scale. The platform serves global telecom and enterprise clients, with Somi positioning Synthefy among the top-funded competitors in the multimodal time-series AI space.
