Stefan Mazy is the Founder and CEO of DermR Health Solutions, an Australian medtech startup pioneering a world-first non-invasive microneedle patch that extracts live skin cells in 15 seconds to pre-screen for skin cancer without biopsies.

Stefan began his career in the aesthetic industry at age 19, developing deep expertise in genomics and skin health, which led him to found SkinDNA in 2009, a DNA skin health testing company whose technology came to power over 70% of all DNA skin health tests globally.

Driven by his mother's painful experience with aggressive skin cancer requiring Mohs surgery, Stefan was compelled to create a less invasive diagnostic path, recognising that at least 40% of skin biopsies are benign and avoidable.

Stefan bootstrapped DermR Health using proceeds from SkinDNA, secured government grants including $200,000 from the WA Department of Health, and won the SXSW Sydney 2024 Startup Pitch Grand Final, advancing to compete at SXSW Austin 2025.

DermR Health completed its first clinical trial in September 2024, validating its microneedle patch as collecting near-equivalent genetic information to a biopsy, and is targeting a $5 million seed round to reach regulatory submission with a mission to prevent one billion skin biopsies.
