Steven Lin

Steven Lin is Co-Founder and CTO at FinalDose, a pioneering biotech company building the world's first programmable drug platform designed to detect and destroy cancer cells using DNA as the trigger.
Steven earned his PhD in Computational Biology from the University of Oxford on a prestigious Wellcome Trust full scholarship, and previously served as Data Lead at Gutsee Biotech.
Steven developed a novel machine learning method leveraging coevolution biology to identify genetic targets that convey drug resistance in viruses, and during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic led the UK Biobank analysis of human genetic susceptibility to infection.
At FinalDose, Steven co-leads the computational and engineering vision alongside two fellow Oxford PhDs, building a programmable drug molecule that scans a cell's genome, identifies diseased DNA sequences, and triggers a targeted kill switch while leaving healthy cells untouched.
FinalDose, backed by Y Combinator (Spring 2026 batch), is targeting over 80% of previously undruggable cancer drivers such as MYC, TP53, and APC, with the potential to collapse the traditional drug R&D cycle from years to days.
