Stuart Dixon

Stuart Dixon is Co-Founder and CEO of Viridys Bio, a UK-based agri-biotech startup developing synthetic biology-powered biosensors that give growers early visual warnings of crop disease and pest stress before symptoms appear.
Stuart spent 11 years as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs working on complex, capital-intensive technologies, and 7 years as an officer in the British Army, before earning an MBA from Warwick Business School and a Biotechnology Masters.
Stuart made a deliberate pivot from a high-profile finance career into climate tech, co-founding Viridys Bio through the Carbon13 venture builder, one of Europe's most active early-stage climate investors.
Viridys Bio closed a £370k pre-seed round led by SFC Capital with participation from Carbon13 and a group of angels, and is co-designing its biosensors with leading organisations across the UK agri-food value chain.
Viridys Bio's technology enables early, low-cost detection of crop pests and pathogens, helping producers reduce losses, cut chemical use, and meet tightening sustainability standards across global supply chains.
