Tal Shapira

Tal Shapira, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and CTO at Reco, a dynamic AI SaaS security platform that protects over 175 SaaS applications and has raised $85 million in total funding. He is a member of the AI Controls Security Working Group with the Cloud Security Alliance.
Tal earned his Ph.D. magna cum laude in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University and holds a B.Sc. in physics with a minor in mathematics from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was head of a cybersecurity R&D group within the Israeli Prime Minister's Office and served as Head of Algorithms at Guardian Optical Technologies, which was acquired by Gentex.
Tal is a graduate of the prestigious Talpiot Excellence Program and has deep expertise in deep learning, computer networks, and cybersecurity. He received the Israel Defense Award for his work leading a cybersecurity group and serves as a Post-Doc researcher at Reichman University.
Under Tal's technical leadership, Reco achieved 5x ARR growth in 2024 and 3x customer expansion. The platform processes 10-12 billion JSON events daily, handles 60 billion reads and 30 billion writes, and maintains an NPS of 82 across customers.
Reco pioneered Dynamic AI SaaS Security and became the first platform to offer AI agents for SaaS security operations. The company's proprietary SaaS App Factory integrates new applications in 3-5 days versus months for legacy providers, serving enterprises in financial services, healthcare, pharma, and tech.
