Thomas Reardon

Thomas Reardon is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Flourish, a New York-based neuro-AI startup building brain-inspired, energy-efficient artificial intelligence through its Cortex AI architecture.
Described as a math and computer prodigy, Reardon built Internet Explorer at Microsoft as a teenager, then pivoted to academia, earning a PhD in Neuroscience from Columbia University and a founding board seat at the World Wide Web Consortium.
Reardon holds 7 patents and was named an MIT Top 35 Young Innovator in 2004, bridging the rare intersection of deep computer science and computational neuroscience across a three-decade career.
He previously co-founded CTRL-labs in 2015, pioneering non-invasive neural interface technology, which Meta acquired in 2019 for between $500 million and $1 billion, after which he served as VP and Head of Neuromotor Interfaces at Meta Reality Labs.
Flourish closed a $500 million funding round in June 2026 at a $2.5 billion valuation, backed by Jeff Bezos, Lux Capital, GV, and Catalio Capital, targeting AI energy use as low as 20 to 50 watts versus the megawatts consumed by today's leading models.
