Tim Blumberg is the Co-Founder and CTO of Throne Science, an AI-powered health monitoring company building passive gut health and hydration tracking technology for the home toilet.

Tim studied at Duke University and honed his engineering skills across Lyft's autonomous vehicle division, Skyflow's cryptography team, and Royal.io's blockchain platform before co-founding Throne in 2023.

Tim's idea for Throne was famously sparked during a poker game in Austin in 2021, where he pitched the concept of smart toilets as a joke that turned into a serious venture.

With over 11 years of experience across crypto, cryptography, and large-scale distributed systems, Tim brings deep technical expertise in computer vision, ML infrastructure, and data pipelines processing tens of terabytes daily.

Throne has raised nearly $18M in total funding, launched its consumer device in March 2026, and is partnering with researchers at Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Chicago to clinically validate its AI gut health platform.
