Tim Lupo

Tim Lupo is Co-Founder and CEO of Deeptune, a New York-based AI infrastructure company building high-fidelity reinforcement learning environments that serve as training gyms for AI agents. Andreessen Horowitz describes him as having a rare combination of technical depth and product intuition, working closely with top researchers across leading AI labs.
Tim studied Computer Science and Business at the University of Southern California, then gained deep AI experience as a Founding Engineer at Hebbia AI and as a Software Engineer at Snackpass and Microsoft.
Tim was among the first to recognize that simulated environments, not more web data, would be the critical next layer for training frontier AI agents. He deliberately chose New York as Deeptune's home, positioning it as the premier early-stage frontier AI destination on the East Coast.
Prior to Deeptune, Tim served as a Founding Engineer at Hebbia AI, an AI-powered search engine, and contributed to software engineering at Microsoft, focusing on multi-primary database systems.
Deeptune has raised $43M in a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, built hundreds of RL training environments used by leading AI labs, and contributed to measurable benchmark improvements including OSWorld and Terminal-Bench.
