Todd Dickinson

Todd Dickinson is CEO and Board Member at Stellaromics, a pioneering 3D spatial multi-omics biotechnology company revolutionizing tissue analysis for biomedical research.
Todd earned dual degrees in chemistry and theology from St. Olaf College and a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Tufts University under Professor David Walt. He spent over 10 years at Illumina during its rise as the global leader in DNA sequencing.
Todd led development and commercialization of BioNano Genomics' Irys nanochannel array product and served as CEO of both Dovetail Genomics and Arc Bio, which he merged in 2022 to form Cantata Bio. He brings over 20 years of experience at the intersection of innovation and commercialization in life sciences.
Under Todd's leadership, Stellaromics raised $105M total funding, including an $80M Series B led by Catalyst4 in 2025 and a $25M Series A in 2023. The company launched its Pyxa platform for 3D spatial transcriptomics, enabling researchers at Stanford, MIT, and other leading institutions to analyze thick tissue sections.
Stellaromics' technology originated from pioneering work by Karl Deisseroth at Stanford and Xiao Wang at MIT/Broad Institute, addressing a critical gap in moving beyond 2D spatial biology. The Pyxa platform enables unprecedented 3D visualization of gene expression in intact tissue, transforming cancer research, neuroscience, and disease atlas creation.
