Tom Barton

Tom Barton is Co-Founder and CEO of Antaris, a satellite software-as-a-service platform on a mission to make space open, accessible, and scalable through cloud-based tools for satellite design, simulation, and operation.
Tom is a long-time Bay Area tech executive and Stanford alum, holding a BA, BS, and MBA from Stanford University, with over 30 years of leadership and successful exits across Silicon Valley.
Tom co-founded Antaris in 2021 with a vision to bring New Space thinking to an Old Space world, championing open APIs and open-source approaches to radically lower the cost and complexity of getting to orbit.
Prior to Antaris, Tom served as COO of Planet Labs, CEO of Diamanti, CEO of Rackable Systems, and Interim CEO of Cygnus Solutions, and held leadership roles at Red Hat and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Antaris has raised nearly $14.2M in seed funding from investors including Lockheed Martin Ventures and Streamlined Ventures, successfully launched JANUS-1 (the world's first cloud-built demonstration satellite), and secured a US Department of Defense contract.
