Tom Eliaz

Tom Eliaz is Co-Founder and VP of Engineering at Bedrock Robotics, an autonomous construction technology company transforming heavy equipment with AI and robotics. He oversees infrastructure, data, and applications for the San Francisco-based startup.
Tom earned a BSE in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Pennsylvania and previously served as Vice President of Engineering at Twilio, leading high-scale computation and AI efforts. He also led engineering at Segment, building the NYC office and developing products key to their $3.2B acquisition by Twilio.
Tom holds patents in XML query optimization from his time as a software engineer at IBM, where he worked on database systems. He was also an early cloud platform leader at Anki, a robotics and AI startup, where he met Bedrock CEO Boris Sofman.
Bedrock Robotics raised $80M in Seed and Series A funding in July 2025, followed by $270M in Series B funding in February 2026, co-led by CapitalG and Valor Atreides AI Fund. The company partners with major construction firms including Sundt Construction, Zachry Construction, and Champion Site Prep.
Bedrock completed the construction industry's largest known supervised autonomy deployment for mass excavation on a 130-acre site, moving 65,000 yards of dirt. The company is addressing a shortage of 500,000 construction workers with retrofit kits that enable autonomous operation of heavy equipment.
