Troy Zhang

Troy Zhang is Co-Founder of Infera (YC P26), an AI-native platform that enables researchers to control lab instruments using natural language, bridging the gap between scientific intent and instrumentation execution.
Troy earned a dual BS in Political Science and Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech, where he served as an R. H. Cox Research Fellow in a Nobel Prize-winning lab.
Troy has published two first-author cancer research papers, holds a first-inventor agtech patent, and built and sold two companies prior to Infera.
Before Infera, Troy gained deep scientific and entrepreneurial experience spanning computational neuroscience, oncology research, and early-stage company building.
Infera is currently running pilots with Boston-area academic labs and cores, targeting proteomics, genomics, flow cytometry, automation, and screening workflows across the life sciences.
