Tye Brady

Tye Brady is Chief Technologist for Robotics at Amazon, leading advanced technology and research efforts to establish Amazon as the preeminent robotics organization globally. With over 30 years of hands-on experience in robotic systems, he oversees strategic development for the world's largest fleet of industrial mobile robots, helping ship billions of packages.
Tye earned a Master's Degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT and a Bachelor's in Aerospace from Boston University. He spent 15 years at Draper Laboratory in technical and leadership roles advancing robotics and spacecraft engineering before joining Amazon in 2015.
Tye is a founding partner of MassRobotics, the world's largest robotics innovation center, and holds over 30 patents and 30 publications on robotics and autonomy. He received NASA's Exceptional Public Service Medal for technical leadership that helped land a robot on the moon for the first time in 50 years.
Tye has led development of breakthrough warehouse robots including Sparrow and Proteus systems unveiled in 2022. He established Amazon's Innovation Lab in Boston and developed R&D partnerships with over 50 universities to advance robotics technologies.
Under Tye's leadership, Amazon deployed its one millionth robot in 2025, operating across 300 facilities worldwide. The robotics innovations have increased processing speed by 25% and reduced costs by 25% while improving warehouse safety for employees.
