Farid Ahsan and Bhanu Pratap Singh are the co-founders of General Autonomy, an AI-driven industrial robotics company building machines to automate labour workflows in factories, headquartered in Bengaluru, India.

Both graduated from IIT Kanpur in 2014, where Bhanu was active in the robotics club and Farid worked on autonomous navigation; they co-founded ShareChat in 2015, growing it into India's largest regional-language social media platform valued at $5 billion.

The duo was named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2018 for their language-first approach at ShareChat, and Farid has been a robotics enthusiast since 2012, with Bhanu bringing deep CTO-level technical expertise.

At ShareChat, Bhanu served as CTO and Farid as COO, helping scale the platform to over 350 million monthly active users across 15 Indian languages before stepping down in January 2023 to pursue General Autonomy.

General Autonomy has raised seed funding backed by Elevation Capital and India Quotient, was recognized among India's top deeptech startups at National Startup Day 2026, and is expanding its robotics stack to include robot dogs and humanoid systems.
