Utkarsh Gupta is the Co-Founder and CEO of Comet, a Bengaluru-based D2C sneaker brand redefining Indian footwear through culture-driven design and community-first storytelling.

Utkarsh studied at The Doon School and the London School of Economics, later earning an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, and built his career at Bain and Company and then as Chief of Staff to the CEO at Hotstar.

Utkarsh identified a white space in India's sneaker market where no brand was telling authentic Indian stories through footwear, and set out to build one that merged cultural identity with product innovation.

Co-founding Comet in 2023 alongside Dishant Daryani, Utkarsh led the brand through a Series A raise of Rs 42.3 crore led by Elevation Capital in 2024, followed by a Rs 100 crore Series B led by Verlinvest in 2026.

Comet has grown revenue ninefold since its Series A, surpassed 500,000 Instagram followers, and is on track to operate 20 retail stores across India by the end of FY27.
