Valerie Mosley

Valerie Mosley, CFA, is the Co-Founder and CEO of BrightUp (legally Upward Wealth, Inc.), a B2B2C fintech platform on a mission to democratize wealth-building, financial wellness, and personal well-being for working families.
Valerie earned her MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and spent over 20 years at Wellington Management, a global investment firm, where she rose to Senior Vice President, Partner, Portfolio Manager, and Investment Strategist, personally managing billions in fixed income assets.
A sought-after speaker on financial literacy and personal empowerment, Valerie also chairs Valmo Ventures, her own advisory and investment firm focused on companies that generate both profit and societal value.
Valerie has served on the boards of DraftKings, Eaton Vance, Envestnet, and Caribou, and has advised New York State's Common Retirement Pension Fund; she also serves on Obama's Presidential Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
BrightUp has attracted backing from Kapor Capital, Collab Capital, Black Tech Nation Ventures, Gratitude Railroad, and MassChallenge, partnering with employers to deliver low-cost emergency loans and holistic financial coaching to underserved employees nationwide.
