Varun Puru

Varun Puru is Co-Founder of Amulet (YC S26), a high-performance filesystem purpose-built for AI agent workloads, enabling fast, petabyte-scale cloud data access for data-intensive AI teams.
Varun studied Computer Science at the University of Michigan and went on to work as a Software Engineer at Meta, where he contributed to Facebook product development, and previously completed internships in backend systems at Amazon and cloud infrastructure at J.P. Morgan.
With deep roots in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure, Varun brings hands-on engineering expertise across some of the most demanding production environments in tech, giving Amulet a strong technical foundation in the AI infrastructure space.
Amulet is backed by Y Combinator (S26 batch) and co-founded alongside Nithik Bala, targeting agentic research labs and cloud agent providers with infrastructure that mounts isolated workspaces in under 100ms without copying data.
Amulet's filesystem supports snapshotting, forking, merging, and rollback of workspaces across disposable compute, positioning it as critical infrastructure for the rapidly growing AI agent ecosystem.
