Vitor Balocco

Vitor Balocco is Co-Founder and Chief Architect at Runlayer, an AI security startup making the Model Context Protocol (MCP) enterprise-ready with robust threat detection, identity-based access controls, and full observability for AI agent deployments.
Vitor studied Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and built deep expertise in applied AI, most notably as Staff AI Engineer and technical lead for Zapier Agents at Zapier.
Having witnessed firsthand the security vulnerabilities inherent in MCP deployments at scale, Vitor left Zapier in 2025 to co-found Runlayer alongside Andrew Berman and Tal Peretz, addressing a critical gap in enterprise AI infrastructure.
Prior to Runlayer, Vitor held engineering roles at Zapier, Stedi, and contributed to ESLint, accumulating broad experience across AI infrastructure, developer tooling, and enterprise software.
Runlayer emerged from stealth in late 2025 with $11M in seed funding and has since raised a $30M Series A, bringing total funding to $42M, with clients including Instacart, Gusto, dbt Labs, and Opendoor.
