W. Henry Gould, P.Eng., is the Founder and CEO of Daedal Systems, a Toronto-based company building standardized plasma measurement infrastructure for the global nuclear fusion industry.

Henry studied Engineering Physics at Queen's University and went on to build and deploy plasma diagnostic systems at General Fusion, serving as Technical Project Manager for the diagnostic suite on the Plasma Injector 3 machine.

Recognizing that every fusion company was independently recreating the same measurement systems despite diagnostics not being core reactor IP, Henry founded Daedal to eliminate this industry-wide duplication and accelerate commercialization.

Daedal raised US$4.035M in a seed round led by OMERS Ventures, with participation from Garage Capital, Panache Ventures, Ripple Ventures, MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund, and angel investors.

Daedal's platform is delivered as a service adaptable to different fusion machines and reactor approaches, with a research partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison and plans to deploy its first three diagnostic systems with pilot customers.
