Warren Weissbluth

Warren Weissbluth is Co-Founder and COO at Voltair, a Y Combinator-backed startup building autonomous self-charging drones that recharge directly on power lines for continuous power grid inspection and wildfire prevention.
Warren studied Operations Research engineering at Rice University and previously worked for two NSF-funded startups where he helped raise a $1M SBIR grant. He also interned at Boeing in structures engineering and gained experience at Helix Earth Technologies.
Warren is a Rice University alum who co-founded Voltair alongside CEO Ronan Nopp and CTO Hayden Gosch. The company was accepted into Y Combinator's Winter 2026 batch and won both the UW Environmental Innovation Challenge and Dempsey Startup Competition in 2025, becoming the first team to win both competitions in the same year.
Voltair has validated its core charging technology on power lines, built five flying prototypes, and inspected approximately 2,000 poles since June 2024. The company is partnering with Big Bend Electric Cooperative and has the capability to service 90% of U.S. land area with 50 miles of drone range.
Voltair's autonomous drones can deliver over 20x the inspection coverage for the same cost as traditional methods, identifying critical maintenance concerns before they spark wildfires. The technology addresses catastrophic wildfire liability that has bankrupted utilities, offering continuous monitoring to prevent grid failures and protect critical infrastructure.
